KYC / KYB Verification Policy

Effective Date: 13th April 2026

LocalProxies may require identity verification before granting access to the residential proxy network. Most accounts are approved from the details submitted at signup; where verification applies, it takes the form of KYC for individuals (Know Your Customer) or KYB for businesses (Know Your Business).

Why we verify

Our residential proxy network is built on IP addresses contributed by real people with informed consent. We have a responsibility to ensure the network is used for legitimate purposes. Verification helps us meet that obligation.

What we collect

If verification is required, we may ask for:

  • Full name and email address
  • Business name and registration details (for business accounts)
  • Company website or online presence
  • Intended use case for the proxy network

How verification works

Each application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our team. In most cases, verification is completed based on the information you submit during registration. For certain accounts, we may request additional documentation or use a third-party KYC/KYB verification provider to confirm identity.

When a third-party provider is used, we only receive a pass/fail verification result. Identity documents are processed by the provider and never reach our servers.

Verification timeline

Most applications are reviewed within 24 hours. If additional information is required, we will contact you via email. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been approved and access has been granted.

Accounts that may be declined

We reserve the right to decline verification for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Incomplete or inconsistent information
  • Use cases that conflict with our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Inability to verify the identity or business legitimacy of the applicant

Ongoing compliance

We reserve the right to request updated information, or to verify or re-verify accounts, at any time. Accounts found to be in violation of our policies may be suspended or terminated.
