GDPR Compliance

LocalProxies, Inc. (“LocalProxies,” “we,” “us”) is committed to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”). This page describes how we process personal data, the lawful bases we rely on, and how data subjects can exercise their rights.

1. Data Controller

The data controller for personal data processed through LocalProxies is:

2. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the following lawful bases:

  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing necessary to provide our proxy services to customers
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Used for IP contributors who opt in to the residential network, and for optional communications
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): Fraud prevention, network security, and abuse detection
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements

3. Categories of Personal Data

  • Account data: name, email address, company name
  • Billing data: processed by FastSpring. We do not store payment card details
  • Connection metadata: timestamps, port assignments, bandwidth consumed. Retained for 7 days maximum
  • IP addresses: whitelisted authentication IPs and assigned proxy IPs

We do not log browsing activity, DNS queries, or the content of traffic routed through our network.

4. Data Subject Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data (Art. 15)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
  • Erasure of your data (Art. 17)
  • Restrict processing (Art. 18)
  • Data portability (Art. 20)
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
  • Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis (Art. 7(3))

5. Data Processors

We use the following third-party processors, each bound by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA):

  • FastSpring: payment processing and billing
  • Cloud hosting providers: infrastructure and service delivery
  • Support Your App: customer support

6. International Transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. All transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards including encryption and data minimization.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and firewall protection. Payment data is handled exclusively by FastSpring and never stored on our servers.

8. IP Contributors

For individuals whose residential IP addresses are part of our proxy network: consent is the lawful basis for processing. Contributors receive clear disclosure at the point of opt-in (Art. 13/14) and can revoke consent at any time with immediate effect.

9. Data Protection Authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (DPA) if you believe your data is being processed unlawfully.
